Make Perfect Bows with a FORK!

Yep, you read that right. You can make cute little bows with a fork! I tried to make a video tutorial of it, but all I have is this built in webcam and it did not work so well. Video quality was crummy and I couldn't find a good position to put the laptop in to get a perfect view. Instead, I went ahead and tried to take photos and write up the instructions. Here we go!

What you need:
  • 1 ribbon piece that is about 8-10 inches long. Once you get good at making fork bows, a 6 inch piece will work
  • a regular sized dinner fork.

wrap your ribbon around the fork  as shown. It seems to work better if you have the "underneath" side of the ribbon a little longer than the top side. See picture above for clarification

Take the bottom (longer side) of the ribbon , bring it OVER the bottom ribbon and insert it into the center slot on your fork

Pull taught and it should look like this

take that same end of ribbon that is already sitting behind the fork and pull it out out through the top of the same fork slot you previously inserted into.

take your two ribbon ends, pull them taught and tie into a simple knot,

slip your finished bow off the fork and trim ends

You can also make a bigger bow with a bigger fork. Just be sure to use a longer length of ribbon of course.

I hope this tutorial is helpful. It seems complex, but once you make a few, it becomes super easy!
