Pinterest Thursday

Well, it's Thursday and that means it's Pinterest day! If you haven't had a chance to create a Pinterest account, you're missing out. It's a lot of fun. I explained it to the hubster as internet bookmarks with pictures.

Today, I'm featuring a project from Jedi Craft Girl. I first saw these luminaries on Cricut's facebook page but followed that link to Pinterest. These simple and adorably spooky luminaries aren't all that complicated to make. Here's the recipe:

  1. Glass jars of your choice. Old, clean mason jars or even recycled spaghetti sauce jars would work for this
  2. White Glue
  3. Craft Paint
  4. Black Vinyl for the Cricut
  5. A Cricut (or a friend that will let you use theirs ;) )
  6. Cricut cartridge that features halloween images.
For the full instructions and more photos of the luminaries in progress, please go directly to the source. I don't want to steal Jedi Craft Girl's thunder. I bet the general idea of these luminaries could be used for Christmas. Could you imagine jars painted a light blue and white vinyl cut out smowflakes? *swoon*

If you're worried about candles inside the jars, you could substitute glow sticks or those battery powered/rechargeable tealights. If you do choose to use real candles, do be careful as with any open flame.
Have you made these? I'd love to see how they turned out.
