Pinterest Junkie: Valentine's day Edition

Hello out there!

I've felt really guilty lately. I just don't generally do a lot of Valentine crafting. I feel like the blog has been lacking in crafty idea and inspiration goodness. (I'm sooorrrryyyy!). Luckily, I have some amazing blogger pals that I stalk.. er.. follow on Pinterest that have been pinning some amazing ideas. I thought that I'd highlight some of my favorite Valentine's Day themed pins! I am still working on something for the blog. Spoiler alert: It involves toilet paper rolls. It's about 50% done. I would have gotten it done and on the blog sooner but life was kind of messing with me. Our dryer stopped heating. Yay for wet clothes. Yuck. We had a pipe freeze under our kitchen sent which created a not so lovely waterfall at 7:25in the morning last Saturday. I also knit and crochet for my shop on Etsy and I've had people locally who have requested a few items. Add that on top of everyday nonsense and you get the idea. My GOAL is to get it finished and on the blog by tomorrow evening, but you know what they say about the best laid plans! Anywhoo.. let's get on with the Pinterestness! All of these will be in their respective boards on my Pinterest page. I will also link to the account I repinned from in the description.

Strawberry Vanilla Cupcakes repinned from Slapdash Mom: (source)

Aren't these adorable? I wish I had some of these on hand right now. Well.. maybe not. I doubt they would last long. Whoosh.. only crumbs left! I love sweets. I especially love sweets that look as darling and perfectly frosted as these. When it comes to me and cake/cupcake/cookie decorating, I have these grand ideas in my head or from online sites/magazines, etc and they end up turning up like something on http://www.craftfail.com

How to Assemble a Heart Shaped Cake repinned from Real Simple (source)

I don't know about you, but I don't have a lot of fancy cake pans, especially not hearts. My most exotic cake pan is round. I know. I live dangerously. This pin shows you how you can assemble your very own heart shaped cake using a round and a square cake pan of the same size. Make this for your special someone and let them think you're some kind of cake magician. That is, if you can decorate better than I can, which honestly is not that hard to do ;)

Playing Card Garland repinned from The Mommy Island (source)

I shared this one on my Facebook earlier this week. I think it's cute, quirky and easy to assemble. I know many of us have decks that have a missing card. Why not put those old decks to use? I suppose you could even cover the "less suitable" cards with coordinating valentine paper and mix them in with the "hearts" and "diamonds cards too.

15 Easy Valentine's Crafts for Kids repinned from Rebel Savings (source)

I don't have kids, but I am guessing most of you do. Many of you would most likely need crafty cute ideas for your kiddos. Whether it is to keep them busy or to have them make a little gift for a teacher or friend, these ideas are sure to please. My favorite is the Valentine's Pencils. It's cute and includes chocolate. Win win!

Bath Salts: Peppermint Spa repinned from Your Virtual Service Group. (source)

I know that peppermint is generally linked with Christmas, but why can't it be for Valentine's too? Make up a bath of this yummy smelling bath salt, package in small mason jars or even cello bags with a paper topper. These would be a good small gift for someone that you care about. Heck, if you want, I'd be glad to receive some! Sinking in a warm bathtub full of luxurious peppermint bath salts sounds dang good to me.

Paint swatch bookmarks repinned from I Heart Valentine's Day (source)

Maybe you're running low on time but you have a paint store nearby? Run in there, grab some color swatches, head home, find a small heart punch, a hole punch and some ribbon. Put them together and you get a cute little bookmark!

That's all for tonight. I'll be showing you more tomorrow! Until then, happy crafting
